There are two other families from our agency that received their referrals about the same day we did in December. They had court dates on the same days we did and failed to pass court for the same reason. For some reason, our case was approved in April and theirs were not. Both of these families wait for sibling groups, so five children are still in the orphanage in Addis Ababa instead of at home with their forever families. I have met all five of them, and they are beautiful. I am so thankful to have Candace and Sarah at home, but the seeming randomness of the situation makes me feel so frustrated for the other families... and a little guilty. Why were we the "lucky ones"?
I would like to ask everyone who reads my blog to pray for these two families. Please leave a comment and let them know that you are praying for them.

Paula thank you so much for doing this, it means so much. Please don't ever feel guilty. We must all know that God has His prefect timing in this. We can not put trust in the African government but trust the One who is worthy. I can not tell you how much it means to me and how touched I am that you did this. Thank you so very much. Prayer is such a gift.
Thank you Paula. Jen said everything above. God's timetable hasn't changed for our boys or Jen and Jake's kids either. We appreciate your prayers and if we have to go through this difficult time, it will be worth it because God will get all the glory and honor. I am realizing more and more what a miracle and honor it is to adopt and hardships that can come. We are truly happy that you are home with your girls, there's a divine reason for that as well.....so God's timing was perfect there too!! Again thanks for your prayers.
I am praying these children will be home soon, and for peace during the wait for them and their families.
I will add them to my prayer list....I too am in limbo and don't understand the randomness of it all, but don't you feel guilty at all, we, atleaset I am happy that the twins are home. any child that comes how is something to be proud of and happy for.
