Settling in

We are learning how to be a family of seven. Some things are harder, like readjusting to the total lack of privacy of the toddler/preschool years. Some things are fun, like watching the twins discover the swingset and the trampoline. We brought our three dogs and two cats back from the kennel today, too. I'm happy to report that beasts and small children are getting along reasonably well.

Oh they look so teeny tiny on that trampoline!

they are so sweet, glad the dog and cat introduction went well. When my sister brought their daughter home from the Ukraine, she screamed every time a pet walked by her for weeks.

Just wanted to say Congratulations! We're in Lincoln and recently home with two brothers from Uganda. The first days home are such a fog, lovely and challenging all at the same time. Our boys are also professional pouters--I didn't know it wasn't specific to them! Glad to hear we're not alone!

We currently have a baby at one of the orphanages you visited, that we are waiting to bring home. Would love it if you could email us so we could ask some specific questions. If you have time. Best of luck with your girls. They are absolutely adorable.

Paula,

My name is Jamie Hedges. My husband and I are currently adopting through Carolina Hope (Nightlight) as well. Lisa had given us the link to your blog. I have enjoyed reading about your girls and your trip so much. We also looked through your pictures that you uploaded to SnapFish. Thank you so much for taking picture of our little boy (Nahome).
I saw when looking through your photos that you and your family went to an Ethiopian dinner and show. I was wondering where that was and how you set that up? I would love to be able to experience as much of Addis as possible while we are there. Also, along those lines, we had heard that the guest house did not want you to go out in public with your adoptive children very much. If so, did you go out to the dinner show before you picked up your girls? And were you able to go around and see the city any? I want to have a lot pictures for our little boy and I would also like to pick up some items to help him remember his culture. Anyway, I would love to hear more about your experiences over there and any suggestions of what we should go do/see or what to bring with us. I know that you are quite busy right now with your very adorable twins, so if and when you have time I would love to hear from you.

Again, thanks so much for the blog and pictures of our boy-

Hi there,

Just found your blog through the chat group. I think we're with the same agency. We came home with our 1 yr old about 18 months ago. We're in process now for baby #2! It's great to see how well you all are doing and to read about your trip. It really is an amazing place, isn't it? The girls are lovely. What smiles! Take care!
