Going too fast

If you have older children, you know what I'm talking about. You start thinking about something cute or funny or poignant that one of your kids said or did once when they were little, and now they are in middle school or high school or college and good grief, where did all the time go?

Or maybe you have little newly adopted five year old twins, and you realize they've been home for almost eight months... eight months!... and you can hardly remember what life was like before they were part of the family, and they are already so eager to be six and can't keep talking about how great it will be to be six and be BIG! In the fall, kindergarten will start and they will be at school all day and Mommy will be missing huge chunks of their day.

Oh gosh, slow down. Just slow down. Stay little for awhile; for Mommy.

I couldn't agree more! Time goes so fast! My youngest just had a birthday and I tried to convince him to start counting backwards...he did not think it was a good idea. Thanks for all of your posts. I just started following your journey. We are waiting for a referral of a preschool age girl from Ethiopia and look forward to experiencing many of the things that you are sharing about on your blog. Thanks for the hair tips too!

Congratulations mom!

I'm so in favor of adoption. I think if I ever have the money I'll probably adopt also twins or triplets.

My best wishes from all my heart!

I keep telling my peeps to enjoy the age they are NOW! Someday they'll regret wasting time wishing for something they can't hurry up. Do you think they listen?

In fact, moments ago someone told me it would be fun to go on What Not to Wear when she's 20.

This post so resonates with me Paula! I completely understand! You blink and your little ones are suddenly independent.

Your little girls are absolutely beautiful! If you are missing a little one in the home, there are many more orphans in the world :)
